One must compare what one was trying to do, with what one actually did, and make adjustments accordingly. If  your creation is not upto the mark, then do it again, and keep doing it until it is upto the mark. It’s easy to lie to yourself, wishful thinking soothes the pressure, and fatigue may cloud your judgement, but all of these must be resisted – we need to focus on the truth of the matter. If we are unable to finish today, then we come back tomorrow and try again. Never back down. Never accept mediocrity and just move onto the next thing.
