Acting Intentions – Gyöngyvér Vigh In Adoption | The Great Acting Blog

Gyöngyvér Vigh, Adoption, acting intentions

Gyöngyvér Vigh’s performance in Adoption, is a powerful example of acting intentions;  of having a good, clear, strong intention towards the other actor in the scene. Vigh knows precisely what she wants the other actor to do as a result of her actions.  As we can see in the video, she is confident within the frame – this is because she knows what she is doing – she has decided on an action for the scene and committed herself to performing it fully. This technique activates her personality – she is true, which means she is intense, vivid and fascinating on screen. Her acting is precise; everything she does carries meaning. In short, her performance is artistic and so her beauty resonates .

I’ve put together some examples from Vigh’s performance as Anna Bálint in Adoption, where she plays opposite [the also brilliant] Katalin Berek.
