Typically when we approach someone with a request for help or some feedback, we view them as a person of authority, someone who can add value to our effort. Sometimes however, they may not perceive themselves the same way. Our request may put them under pressure, they may feel we are over-estimating them. This may not be overt however, they may not even realise it themselves, but the clues can be found in their response to our request, they made be hidden among the words they use.
Be alive to the idea that when you ask someone for help, your request may transform into an opportunity for you to help them. How? By offering reassurance.
