The Great Acting Blog: “We Are What We Repeatedly Do”

When you look back over the last day, week, month or year, can you say you focussed your time and energy on the truly important questions of your life, the questions which affect you profoundly, or have you focussed them on petty conflicts and trivial issues?

The petty and the trivial are comforting because we can busy ourselves with them, using them as a distraction from the difficult, complex challenges of our lives. The petty and the trivial are inconsequential but we pretend they are important.

That’s fine and dandy, but we are what we repeatedly do. If we spend our time addressing the trivial, it means that we are living trivial lives.
