There are only a finite number of people who you can collaborate with. Don’t think there are innumerable collaborators for you out there. There isn’t.
There are only a certain number of people who:
– can see all that you have to offer and place a high value on it
– believe in you
– will never second guess you
– will go out on a limb for you
– will support you concretely [ie – with more than just words]
– will unexpectedly offer something wonderful
– always show up
– take a personal interest in your career in general, and not only the projects they are working on with you
– respect your efforts even when you come unstuck
– will champion your cause to others
These true collaborators are precious and should be treated as such. But know that together with them, you have the possibility of creating something truly extraordinary.
