The Great Acting Blog: “If You Don’t Love It, Don’t Touch It”
If you’re going to be picking a goal, it might as well be something you love. Don’t think you’re making life easier, don’t think you’ll reduce the stress by picking something you’re only luke warm about. Remember that it’s going to require long hours of hard graft, it’s going to require a sacrifice of your personal comfort, it’s going to require intense focus. You’re going to need to love it in order to stick with it, and continually overcome the obstacles you’ll encounter. If you don’t love the goal you’re working towards, then you’re less likely to work well and see it through the tough times, and you’re more likely to fold under the workload.
If you don’t love it, don’t touch it.
