The Great Acting Blog: “How Can You Trust Someone Who Agrees With You All The Time?”

How can you trust somebody who agrees with you all the time? Isn’t their ultra-agreeable nature just an over-compensation to masque the fact that they are disagreeable? Or perhaps they are trying to exhort you in some way, like the flattering salesman? Surely agreeing with everything renders everything meaningless?
I prefer the person who stands their ground. The one who’ll fight for what they believe in. This shows integrity and purpose. It shows commitment to an idea, and the courage to risk offence in order to defend their position. This person may not kiss your ass, they may not make you feel good all the time, but neither are they likely to be a snake in the grass.
