The Great Acting Blog: “Create Powerful Connection And Become A Great Artist”

Following on from yesterday’s post about standing for something…

It’s true that you cannot control what people think of your work. It can’t appeal to everyone, and in fact, most people are probably not going to be interested in what you do. But standing for something isn’t about that.

What is important is that you choose to stand for something you believe in, something that you’re proud of, that excites you, something that you believe to be true, and embed it in your work. Then the results of your work might connect meaningfully with those who have similar concerns to your own, with those who experience the world in a similar way.

All great artists, whether they be actors, filmmakers, writers or whatever, all of them represent something very specific, that’s partly why  their work has a powerful effect on us in the first place.

Why not follow in their footsteps, and be a great artist too?
