The Great Acting Blog: “Create An Impact Like Your Favourite Actors”

You can turn up and do acting like a job, just going through the motions, checking your watch, being comfortable. And that’s fine. But you’ll end up producing work without any impact, work that fails to make an impression, work that does not matter to anyone.

Alternatively, you can strive to be an artist. You can strive to create work that affects people, work that is meaningful to them to the extent that they wait with anticipation to find out what you’re going to do next.

Do work that impacts people in the same way that your favourite actors impact you. That seems to be something worth aiming for and it sounds like a lot more fun than being a jobs worth.
