The Great Acting Blog: “Acting Is Our Creativity”

The flip-side of course, is that the less you use your creativity, the less of it you have.
Acting was our calling but it continues to speak to us. It’s the thing we’re most passionate about. It’s the reason we allow ourselves to roll with a demented life-style. We love it, and, occasionally, it loves us back.
Yes, acting called to us and offered itself as the way we could give form to our creativity. But we’ve got to nurture it. We’ve got to take care of it. It cannot be taken for granted, we must continually work at it.
If we fail in our obligations, then it will desert us, it will become lost to us, we will no longer be granted access to it. All that will remain is nostalgia.
Acting is the expressive form of our creativity. The less we use it, the less of it we have.
