Noirish Project Blog: “Next Steps For Noirish Project”
With Rouzbeh Rashidi before the screenings
Well, on Saturday Noirish Project received it’s first public screening (on a double bill with HSP: There Is No Escape From The Terrors Of The Mind). I have to say it was a completely mind blowing experience to finally get it in front of people. I have been working on it for 18 months and to see the film exposed to the eyes of the public was new for me. I had to just stand back and just let the film unfold up on that big screen – it felt as though the film no longer needed me anymore, and was going out into the world, standing on it’s own two feet. Noirish Project came of age (if such a thing can be said of a film) – and I will surely never forget that extraordinary feeling for as long as I live.
If anything, the screening has re-affirmed my conviction that cinema, true cinema, means the big screen and a shared experience. That is the form, without it, cinema does not exist. That’s why I am striving to create more screenings of Noirish Project. There has already been some interest from other venues in the UK and Europe, and even in America too. So, during this next phase I will be working to make these screenings happen.
