Drifting Clouds Cinema: “Films Where The Director Played The Lead Character”

Once again, I reached out to the Distracted community to make a new list. Once again, the suggestions were many, varied and often surprising (Depardieu as director?).

I’ve tried to limit it to one film per filmmaker, except in those cases where demand has proved irresistable.

The full list is now up on MUBI. Some titles suggested however, are not listed on MUBI, titles such as my personal favourite; “Johnny Nobody” which saw the great Nigel Patrick direct and take the lead.
