Which ever direction you choose, there’s almost always a trade-off, you gain one thing but you lose something else. There’s rarely a perfect option. That’s why it’s important to prioritise what you want from your work: what is it that you want? Artistic control? Money? Fame? Creative fulfilment? Respect? Respectability? Self-respect? Freedom? Adventure? Challenge? Love? Impact?
Once you’ve prioritised what you want, you are better placed to determine what your next set of actions and objectives should be amid the myriad options. But remember: as you accomplish more and more over time, so your priorities will need updating.
