The Great Acting Blog: “Take Action And See Your World Expand”
Somebody once said that we should continually climb new peaks, increasing in height each time, because then our view of the world will stretch farther and farther.
We need to take action in order to see new possibilities and open up new opportunities. If we shy away from doing this and stay stuck where we are, then we limit  not only our view of the world, but also what we think we can accomplish. That’s why it’s most important to take action on the ideas and projects where we don’t know in advance what the outcome will be – they are the actions that will enable us to break into new territory and gain rich, new insights, regardless of whether the action was successful or not. They expand our horizons, they expand our world.
The flip side is trying to judge what the outcome will be from where we are now. Of course, the view from where we are now is limited to what we’ve already accomplished, and so if we do the same things over and over again then we are likely to see the same results over and over again – our world never expands, we are stuck.
Take action then, especially when the results are not guaranteed, and see the world expand.
