The Great Acting Blog: “13 Acting Questions For The Coming Year”

As the end of the year approaches, it’s time to renew the objectives of The Great Acting Blog. I’ve formulated some questions below for the year ahead, many are a re-iteration of what’s gone on before, others have been reformulated and there some new ones too. If however, there are others which you think I’ve missed or would like to see covered, please do let me know. In any case, it will be interesting, in a year’s time, to review these questions and see how many answers we have managed to supply.

The blog views the actor as an individual creative artist, not as an employee, and so it is through that prism we must view the following….

1. What are the best practices for actors?

2. How can we not only survive but thrive in an over-crowded profession?

3. How can we only do work we love?

4. How do we create a sustainable career?

5. How to gain and maintain control over our careers?

6. How to make absolutely the most out of the talents and abilities we possess?

7. What are the skills, techniques and philosophies required to make the career we want happen?

8. How to make every moment of our lives contribute towards our growth as individual creative artists?

9. What  do the developments in digital filmmaking mean for actors?

10. How can actors take advantage of these developments?

11. How can each individual actor add value to what they do and so distinguish themselves?

12. How can we promote the history of acting?

13. How can we create and develop a proper critical analysis of, and conversation about, acting?
