Distracted is the story of a man, a detective, who has no interest in solving the case to which he has been assigned, namely a murder. He has no interest in his work, he’d rather be someplace else. The film will use the conventions of the detective genre (and the viewer’s knowledge of them) to explore the protagonist’s state of being. Here, that state is one of distraction.
Over the past few weeks, I have been working on the script; refining it’s actions, making them more direct and forceful, sharpening their focus. The overall effect of this work has been to give the absurd universe of Distracted a more powerful expression, making it stranger and yet more familiar.
I will keep you posted.
